Scroll Ninja is a 2d platformer with smooth movement and neon lit levels. This was a university project of mine where I was tasked with making it within a time frame.

I knew I wanted to make a platformer with the likes of “celeste” and “hollow knight” but also keep it simple since it was my first time tackling a 2d project.

The goal is to collect scrolls as a ninja who parkours his way through neon lit environments. Getting the mechanics and camera down was the first mission to this project since the fun factor is derived from mastering the movement. Designing a level that can encompass these mechanics came next. A huge inspiration also came from just looking at the assets for the game, a vision for how the game could turn out came from asset research.

Polishing is what gave the game its great juiciness. From eye pleasing backdrops to ability effects and a great soundtrack
